Waterfalls

There is never a dull moment…
This week I came down with a sinus infection, changed classrooms, and may be catching the stomach flu. Really? Yes!
Last week, I had a little cough and cold, which I’m sure came from my wonderful fiance. Monday, I left school a couple of hours early to go to the doctor. Even though I was not overwhelmingly ill, I decided I better go get some medicine to knock out the sinus infection, before I had to miss some full days of student teaching. The doctor was very understanding and gave me plenty of “feel-better pills.” They worked, and by yesterday, I was feeling like a new woman (or maybe the same woman, before winter came and ruined everything). Today was a different story. I have had bad stomach pain all day. The doctor says this may be the early signs of stomach flu. The good news: the other meds may have prevented a bad strain!
Over the week, my faculty advisor at LSU decided that I should switch classrooms. My mentor teacher and I met with her on Wednesday morning to discuss the final decision. I spent my last two days in fourth grade on Wednesday and Thursday. On Monday I will be moving to Mrs. Dart’s third grade. I will still be at Parkview Elementary. I will really miss fourth grade, but I am looking forward to the new adventures in third grade! I’m sure there will be more on this topic to come.
Now, in addition to blogging in 2011, I also started an Etsy shop with my grandmother. Nana and I both enjoy painting very much. It is definitely a hobby for me, but Nana is really very talented with oil painting. Painting is just one of her many gifts. 1 Cr 7:7 “…But each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.” This is one of hers, and I’m just so proud of her. Actually, she has done so many that she just doesn’t have the wall space for them. Our Etsy store aims to solve that problem for her!
Here is the newest painting we have posted:

The Ring

Ha. I guess God has even better plans than I do!!! I was searching for the joy in everything last week, and BOOM! God showed up!
On Sunday, MIKE PROPOSED! That’s right we’re getting MARRIED!
The story: I had a pretty rough week last week. Mike surprised me with roses after church. As I hugged him, I was in tears because he is so thoughtful and sweet every single time I am down. While we hugged, he whispered, “I love you, and I’m never going to hurt you.” Then he backed away and knelt on one knee with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen! “Will you marry me?” I honestly thought it was a joke, but nope. It’s real. We’re getting married.
The details: We’re getting married. On October 29, 2011, I will become Mrs. Michael Watson. Woo hoo!!! The wedding will be in Baton Rouge, but there are a LOT more details to work out.
The truth: We’re in love, and I can’t wait to marry him! God is so good! The END.
